What are the best things to look out for when negotiating a salary? Besides understanding what the range of the position and what to expect from the job/company, are there any things people have found that has helped significantly? Even something like looking at competitor benefits and asking the company to match?

This isn’t really an interview question but more of an on-boarding question.
Bit of background- I left my job of 3 years in Dec 2021 for a new company. Initially, I thought the company was great but my mind quickly changed. The on-boarding process was horrible, minimal training, thrown onto enterprise project 2 weeks in, over time, and there is no process for anything. I ended up hating my job.

Fast forward to Mid March, I started applying for jobs again but I omitted this role.

How do you know your value? Throughout my 10 yrs of being in a professional setting, I've had colleagues from various places of employment say, I don't think you know your worth. You're under valued, etc. What exercises/tools have helped you realize your worth and effectively advocate for it? TIA!
