Has anyone seen the Trolls holiday video on Netflix? Agree or disagree that it is okay to show in class?
Debating on investing on our first rental property. We were initially thinking about a rental in our area code (northern virginia) but all ideas/threads on here seem to indicate renting a beach front property on airbnb would be a win-win. Get mortgage covered over the summer and use it as a vacation home during winter. Is it that straightforward, what are we missing? Any reasons why we should not invest in a beachfront and instead stick to original plan? Tia!
Need some 🐠-inspiration. What cool venues, activities, atmosphere, etc have made your holiday parties successful?
Hey fellow moms! I have a toddler 2.5 yro and getting a lot of questions from family and friends about gifts for her for the holiday season. Any recs on what you loved for your kids around that age?
Is it normal to take time off during your notice period? Especially if it was something you already have approval for before you resigned?
What are your plans for the holiday weekend? I'm currently at home watching Chernobyl (I'd highly recommend the show for anyone looking to replace their GoT fix).
"Why do you encourage us to not take vacation?"... Let's engage and not answer this question because we want to run you into the ground
Has anyone ever taken time off shortly after starting a new job? Im starting a new job and want to take 2 days off, within 2 wks of my start date. I will officially be out of classroom training. While I'll be doing on the job training, there's about a 6 month learning curve and I doubt the firm expects me to not take time off for 6 months. We've been planning this for a few months now and it sucks to have to reschedule.
Talent Acquisition teams: Are you all swamped and behind in your ATS processing right now? Asking as several colleagues and friends are actively submitting REFERRED applications for well-matched roles--but not hearing anything from HR. Is the need for talent real or is it overblown in the media? Or are a lot of TA people simply drowning at work or out on vacation right now? Tx for sharing if you are able! I'd like to give people some hope!
Anyone have any travel recommendations for scenic things to see and do near Auckland? Will be in Auckland for 7 days for a family vacation and planning itinerary for March. Thank you in advance! :)
I was thinking about taking my 4 yo on a beach vacation and skipped going anywhere during peak summer season. Is there any place with low risk where I can spend some time away from home?
Any Deloitters know if you still have to confirm your schedule in STAFFIT If you're on Pto for the entire week, or no?
Hey moms, Any ideas for an impromptu last minute 2-4 day trip from NYC that we can take with our 2-month old and parents? Didn’t plan anything under the assumption that he’d be too young, but he was great during our recent road trip to Philly! Desperate to get out but I’m sure everything’s booked for the Fourth of July holiday! Doesn’t even have to be anything fancy ! Just need to get out for a change of scenery! Any recommendations would be much appreciated!
Just finalized and booked my wife and I to a vacation in Europe for end of the year. Feels amazing to call it our honeymoon after 4 years of marriage ❤️ Delayed gratification and totally worth it.
EY- can vacation be taken in 4 hour increments? I want to take a half day one week because I need to leave out of town by 2p. Is that okay to charge 4 vaca and 4+ of other work?
Hoping to do a 4-7 day end of an Australian vacation in the Philippines or Indonesia. I would love to do some hikes, beaches, and/or see a cool food scene. Which is better for those?
Flying to europe with friends, if I book their tickets will they get the perks that are given to me (priority boarding, access to star Alliance gold lounge)? United Gold btw.
What would you choose if you were in your mid 20s- A great company in a very tiny city or a relatively unknown company in a big city. Let's assume the pay, benefits etc are great for both.
How do you guys take care of your parents back home . I am a single child living in USA . I don’t want to go back and it is getting tougher day by day .
How to handle anxiety from Covid?
Looking for a good United mileage run out of Denver. Strictly looking for PQMs, not segments. Anyone have any luck with something like this? Need about 20k PQMs to reach the next Premier level.
Anyone heard of VAL Health?
GT really pulled through with the pay raises and bonuses this year. Non-GT folks - what's the situation elsewhere?!
3 rounds of interviews over the course of the past two weeks. The third and final one is tomorrow but nervous that if I don’t get this position now I look like a slacker at my current firm because I’ve had to take off/leave early recently for all these interviews… does it really look bad for am I being paranoid
I really want to get the CFP asap but I’m torn bc all of my time & energy is currently going into building my practice and I’m only about 16 months in with a relatively long way to go. Continued....
I have 2 YOE at a tier 2 consulting firm and just graduated top of class with an MS at a target school. How do I go about networking/getting a referral to transfer over to MBB?
It's March, and I have done a lot of seminars in Jan and Feb. I've gotten a few clients but would like to increase AUM drastically! Any books, sites or advice on what I can do for marketing?
Is it possible to find a good exit in a less populated area? I don’t want to be near a big city — I want a house and a big yard. But every single job that would be a good career move is in a big city. Do good jobs in small markets exist? How do you find them? I’ve considered 100% remote roles, but it seems hard to progress in a career if I’m not physically present.
Working with an (external) headhunter for a role, and just found out they want me to proceed to the second round of interviews. I had told the headhunter after the first round that I was interested in moving forward (although I did express some concerns I had) but after thinking about it, I’ve decided I’m not interested in the role. Does it look bad to go back on my word and drop out of the process now?
Stay on a project leaning absolutely nothing but get promoted because it’s a high profile client or ask to roll off the client and actually learn something but give up your chances on a promotion? Which is better?
Does Accenture do H1B transfers in US?
I feel like these “incredible” exit opportunities consulting gives you is only applicable to MBB (i.e, companies only value MBB experience vs others). Any successful exits from Big 4 folk?
Any MBB folks down to give me feedback/advice on my resume? Also looking for a potential referral if possible. Only if you think I have a chance!
Expecting my first child in Nov and starting a new consulting role in a few weeks. Totally new field for me coming from engineering. Any advice for starting the new role and handling mom life?
