Reposting from HR bowl: I’ve heard there is a hiring boom, especially for L&D roles. I was let go recently from a toxic environment (removed the company from everything) after only 4 days of work. I’m actively job searching but not receiving ideal hits. I see a lot of senior level L&D roles but not as many for specialist roles, specifically in tech. I have 5.5 years of experience. Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .

Is it normal for every single call (client or internal) everyone dials in from their desks at an open format office? Everyone avoids takings calls together/conference rooms like the plague.

It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Whatever you’re doing, wherever you are: get up and move even if you don’t finish or end up going on a walk. Pls take care of yourself❤️
