I recently interviewed with MITRE for a systems engineering role to make the move from Leidos where I feel underpaid for the work I do and for my experience ($85K). I have 4 YOE, a STEM degree, and soon will have a Masters Degree. I’m looking to make around $120K in the new role at Mitre. Does anyone have any insight into comp there? This would be in the DC metro area. Does $120K seem reasonable or am I dreaming?

as long as you aren't claustrophobic, find a place near you that offers saltwater floats in sensory deprivation tanks and go do that for an hour once or twice. I find it to be extremely helpful when I need to 'reset' my stress levels.
I love this idea! This is exactly what I was looking for when asking this question — unique activities that I wouldn’t have thought of to help decompress. Thank you!
I once went to a tree house in the middle of the forest in Dominican Republic by myself. No cell. Some parts of the trip were sketchy as f*** but overall a good experience.
Despite being surrounded by bunch of couples, it was a good way to process, get centered, be there with my thoughts...

Do the things that best help *you* process and recharge. For some it's taking a trip, for others it's doing a home project that they've been putting off, learning a new skill, catching up on their reading, starting a new workout routine, cooking some new recipes - there are many options.
I could use a trip to recharge right about now. All that matters is you enjoy that time off.
Like someone else mentioned it's unique to everyone. Just make sure you pick something that isn't secretly work-related, like learning a new skill "for fun" but it's actually something you hope to leverage at the new job. Do something completely for you: that in itself will leave you recharged for the new job. If it happens to be a skill or hobby that winds up useful later - cool. But that shouldn't be the goal.
Do things that feed your soul. Any lost hobbies or abandoned interests? You might want to revisit these during the break. You'll learn and adapt to the new work culture regardless, so it's fine if you take the time wholly for yourself.

Where are you located? Def weather dependent haha.
Haha I’ve definitely got some snow around — was thinking of going cross country skiing or snowshoeing!
