I'm so tired of working. I just want to buy a little place in the country and live a simple life.

Same feeling here — 50s is a hard decade with kids in school and trying to save for retirement

I wish there was a way to stay engaged but take a path to gradually ramp down towards retirement. We all have valuable experience to share but I personally don’t want to compete with the younger folks who are aggressively seeking promotions etc. Unfortunately, I don’t think we can be honest about this idea, especially now.

Totally agree

Take me please. 😞

You are not alone. 30+ years of working and mostly trying to fix the same problems. I’m exhausted. Grateful to have a choice, at least for right now, but wish I could do something else sooner.

I just did that very thing. Leaving Chicago for a beautiful home in the country. So happy! If you want it, do it.

I feel the same. The only obstacle is healthcare benefits, else I’d walk tomorrow.

Hello,
I've recieved an offer from Morgan Stanley, my previous salary was around 6 Lpa and last offered was around 15 Lpa (WFH), I quoted 40 to 45% on top of that around 22 Lpa considering Mumbai location, WFO and Glassdoor pay range.
Did I just do a mistake by quoting too high a number? Please let me know your opinions.

My company covers in depth results each week, including meetings set/attended, wins, revenue, retention etc. I feel as if evaluating in such depth is detrimental to the psyche, as you never get to “ride the high.” In addition, some weeks are simply slower than others, and it’s not always representative of what the results at the end of the period or quarter will be. Is this not a big deal, and I’m I placing too much importance on it? Or is it beneficial to review results less frequently?
