This rain we got now? Now imagine this every year between Memorial Day Weekend and the fall. Also, Miami has nuisance flooding in some areas because of the porous rock the city sits on top of. It's great in the spring and winter, but hot AF the rest of the time.
Lived in Miami 3 years now (have also lived in Seattle/NYC/Chicago/LA) Miami is without a doubt my favorite. Not sure your age but Brickell/Edgewater/Downtown Miami are all great places to leave if you want that lifestyle. It has actually been cooler here than many places in the NE and NW this last summer too.
Miami is going down hill fast. On its way to the crime and drug 1970s. Pick a different part of Florida like FLL, Boca, Tampa, or St Pete.
Only if you want to live with the nearly dead crowd.
Man it's super nice for like a few weeks...but just so so hot! I wasn't a fan personally, but I'm more of a snow bunny lol
Research your neighborhood carefully. There are some really nice areas of Miami with great places to walk around, have a coffee, and explore. And then there are ones that will make you wish you had never, ever, ever made that move. Also, make sure you have access to a pool.
Any recs on neighborhoods - have heard coral gables and coconut grove are great?
