Um 5-10 seems high for in house
Chief
Yeah wtf. In a good year top performer like 3-4%. 5% and above is usually only for switching roles or promotion. In bad economic years probably 1-2%.
Pro
3-4% is probably slightly above average. I would expect 2-3%.
If you want more you either need to get promoted or move to a new job.
I was told to expect 3-4%. I’ll be happy with 3%. That’ll put me up to around 232k base with a $58k bonus the following year.
2-3%
I was under the impression in house is always 2-4 unless it’s a promotion year. Seems like the comments generally agree but I’m curious who else has seen 5-10 in a non promotion year
Either OP knows something about his team/company that we don’t, or he’s about to have a rude awakening.
I wouldn't expect that unless your company is a pretty big outlier. At my large tech company maximum is somewhere between 4.5 and 5 percent for top performers. No one is getting 10 unless they've been promoted.
At my last company (non-tech), our absolute max was 3.25 unless you were promoted.

I would expect 4-5% in your situation
4% is our usual, but I would love more and hope they do after a good year.
Couple points of reference: I was rated at the highest level for our year ending Sept 2024 and got 5%. I was rated at the highest level for the year ending Sept 2025 and got promoted effective Oct and got 15%.
