Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.

As a manager, I’d say raise your hand and flag that you have capacity. Good chance someone on another account is drowning and could use support. The bad part of that is, in my experience you tend to wind up staying on the account you’re helping out on long after your existing accounts pick up again. But at the end of the day it keeps you billable, and therefore more likely the stay employed.
If you want to feel productive there are probably trainings or certifications you can work on. Maybe someone you work with is busy and you could help take something off their plate?

Spec or passion project for portfolio perhaps in this economy.
Wow that never happens to me…
If you have the half-day Friday option, GTFO and relish in the daylight (or just take half the day off anyway and start a trend). Otherwise, I really liked when my manager would give the team weekly learning projects when things were slow. We were Motion Graphics so he’d show us a film/animation element like the “jump cut,” then give us a week to create our own version for like a show and tell.
