This year apparently less then when I wasn’t being promoted

It varies but in my experience non-promotion raises are typically 2-6% depending on performance. I’ve once gotten something like 12% when not getting promoted but that’s an exception.

Promotions are typically 8-20% depending on circumstances. Average is closer to 10-12% but if you’re under paid in the new range, perform exceptionally, or have other circumstances that dictate a higher increase I’ve gotten 20% ish bump.

Again just my personal experience, and economic / financial environment will also factor into this.

To be honest they really aren't great. Most places I have worked the average raise is about 3% and if you are promoted that can be anywhere from like 5% to 9%. I would say that is pretty standard at most companies.

promotions are a standard 7.5% and then merit is separate

Hi! Does anyone know what kind of knowledge is needed to crack the Data Scientist interview at Google?

I'm currently working in Marketing Analytics (primarily using SQL and a bit of pyspark). Apart from mastering SQL, I wanted to know from people working at Google what does it take to get there as a Data Scientist? (I'm very interested in Strategy Ops)

I plan to another 6-8 months in preparation and upskilling myself before I even apply.
Any help and guidance is appreciated! Thanks :)
