Buy Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones. Try not to work on flights. Load iPad mini with movies in case TV or internet not available. Fly same airline to Get status- then if you want to switch - there are status match programs. Lastly - don’t be afraid to leave client site Thursday after lunch (I.e. 1 PM for 3ish PM flight) so that you get back home at a reasonable time. Also don’t take connecting flights whenever possible - even if price is half. And as you mentioned get TSA pre-check. Also always bring water, and snacks that have protein, also have Advil/ibuprophen available in case you get sinus pressure.
I’m a big advocate of buying a nice small duffle that you can fit under the seat and always packing as light as possible - helps eliminate the stress of fighting for over head bin space. I also try to fly on Monday mornings whenever possible over Sunday night
Also second the suggestion of keeping a second set of all chargers in your travel bag so you never forget one. And if you do - amazon same day delivery can be clutch.
Bone before getting to the plane!
I keep a second set of essentials in my luggage (shampoo, tooth brush, phone charger, etc) and never take it out, which means I’m probably never going to forget them. Also always pack an extra set of clothes, you never know when you’re going to be grounded for a night or when there is going to be a fun event to go to if you just stay over. Dress well when you get to the hotel, so you’re more likely to get upgraded. I always fly out Sunday so that I can settle in before going in to the office, but I’m also single so no one’s going to complain about being married to my job
Clear is bullshit. Nothing more annoying than long PRE lines next to a clear line full of clear employees doing the hard sell. LGA C terminal is the worst
Thanks so much all for the suggestions!! Definitely helps :)
Have a checklist of things you need to do pre-flight or airport. Then instead of worrying about it, if you do everything on the checklist, you’re good! Oh, and alcohol.
Amazon delivers to hotels and client sites. Eat healthy every day while traveling. Don't spend a cheat day with people they have to pay you to see. Try to limit time at bar and hit the gym instead, lastly get some damn sleep. So many people are perpetually sick around this time of year, especially when travelling. It shows in your stamina, focus, and even skin complexion. I travel with a few small bags within my duffel - one for clean, one for gym shoes/clothes, and one for dirty clothes. Makes it easy to take care of when I get home - I usually can be packed for next trip 2-3 hours after getting home.
Clear is really nice in addition to pre check if your airport has it
Set workout goals, set aside one night a week for a team event, spend a weekend in each city tour assigned in (if they are of interest), and if possible run the city in the mornings. Traveling is a cool privilege when done right.
