Anyone referring for FAANG companies?
Don’t do it. Joined a company like Capgemini 7 months ago, i am on my way out now joining Deloitte.
@sbc1: may I DM you? I’m a college hire who is at Cap a couple of months ago and trying to make my way to other firms. It sucks
I've been long term with Cap so I've got my bias. I believe our strongest group is college grads. They tend to be exceptional. US based resources can be hit or miss. Probably our biggest issues is that we run with no bench, so we are often caught out needing resources and resort to emergency hires or contractors.
For large scale projects, I've seen 60-70% overall effort in India. This doesn't mean standard...just what I've seen. My experience is on SAP projects.
Our rates are higher than Infosys and Tata...and i believe we pay our people more and have higher quality there. Our rates are less than B4. Personally, I'm amazing so there is that.
BTW, i think everyone has a different experience. Get on a few projects with good leadership and backing and its great. Have a bad people manager and get tossed into a bad role or project and it will be horrible. It's not lost on me though that we get bashed on these boards quite a bit.
The people are the main reason I'm with Cap. They are great to work with, but obviously depends on the business unit.
You need to specify which Cap business unit you are referring to. Different BU, different projects, different pay.
Where are you getting your information?
I began career at Cap, it is very different to B4 and ACN. They body shop and ship work overseas, onsite people just work around it at bill rates one third or half of B4.
Not bad to go to straight out of college, but B4/ACN to Cap is a step down even if you get a higher title.
Well, I’m currently being low-balled in Accenture. Salary is 80k as a consultant, new salary with Cap would be 140k as a Senior Consultant....
You don’t want to be a Sr Con with a high salary. That means you are a Sr Con 3 and harder to staff. A lot of people are hired into that level because they come from industry and don’t have consulting experience, or if there is no experience managing teams. Also, as a Sr Con you are no longer eligible for a bonus. I wouldn’t worry about the title between companies. I know people who have left Cap and other companies as a Sr Con to become a Consultant at Deloitte. I also know people who left Cap that were barely promoted to manager (and with performance issues) only to become a Senior Manager there. Figure out what you want, where you will be working, sold projects, talk to people in the BU, sector or SL you plan to join. The dynamics at Cap very by area
I’ve decided to take Cap’s offer. What’s the worst that can happen. BU: AS
Hey, I have a current offer as manager with cap. Coming from experience with Deloitte and EY. Do you have any salary ranges as well as if you have any regrets? Thanks
