why cts blacklist any company any idea?
Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.
Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?

I've learned not to fight people's fights anymore. Not only do you get blamed if something goes wrong, it just makes the other person look unprofessional and childish. Not to mention, it makes you look like you're overstepping your role. If they care, support them while they advocate for themselves.

Sometimes it’s hard to just sit and watch while they get ignored when they do so much but I get your point as well. Thx
I always treat situations as if I as walking in their shoes. Not so much as myself, but from their perspective and what I know about them. If that were me, would I want to know? Without a doubt. But sometimes, people aren't in their roles for the money, or they slack off frequently... those I would be less inclined to tell.

I suppose that’s a different perspective. I still can’t wrap my head around working but not for the money.
Ultimately it depends on what level of self sacrifice you’re open to. Solidarity is best when there are a number of others behind you having your back too.
It’s really on your teammate to assert what they deserve with their manager, anchoring their request in data, personal performance and achievements. You already did your part by letting them know they aren’t getting paid fairly, a critical piece to the puzzle.
Subject Expert
That’s probably true that it’s their responsibility. I just think solidarity in numbers will need me to step up too. But I get it.
That would not be my problem. And I think just as a matter of principle that it's wrong to intrude on someone's personal business. What they make is their own business, and it's not my place to appoint myself as their advocate.

I think I get where you’re coming from. But I’d personally be grateful if someone advocated for me with or without my requesting them to!

There is a reason for it which has nothing to do with your, stay in your lane.
Subject Expert
What really is my lane though? One can argue that advocating for another could be my lane too.
Pick your battles. Do you really want to get into this situation when it doesn't really affect you? Work is already stressful enough as it is, I personally wouldn't want to add another person's battles to my plate.

I suppose fairness isn’t entirely advocated at all companies. I’m thinking out loud. But if they ask me to help them, I would do it.
I’m going to go against the grain here and say that I would definitely speak up.
At minimum, I would let my teammate know that they’re being underpaid. What happens after that, is up to them.
Either way, employees need to stick together - if the company mistreats one worker, it can mistreat all of them.
Subject Expert
Thank you. I think it’s easier to turn a blind eye.
Stay in your lane. There is no reason to involve yourself in this. It's on your teammate to fight their own battles, not you.

Thanks for your feedback.
Lol. Everyone is paid "fairly." They're paid the maximum of (I) market willingness to pay and (II) what they ask for.
If a person is too lazy, shy, or poorly networked to ask for what they're worth... That's on them.
Subject Expert
Is it? Or is it on the company to have integrity?
That's not what I said at all. Use any and all leverage you hold to negotiate the best comp package possible.
Lazy peers aren't your problem.
Subject Expert
Thank you did the clarification
It depends how close you are to that person
Subject Expert
I don’t think I’m close to any coworker. But as I’m thinking from a perspective of having integrity. But maybe it’s not integrity issue.

I usually would try to slip it into a convo quietly so they get the drift and then can act on it if they want

That makes sense.
