Bain & Company Got dinged after a final round AC interview with Bain & Company as an experienced hire with 1 YOE. Currently at $75k base salary and on average work 30-40 hours a week.
Considering $15-25k increase in salary, but double the number of work hours, is it worth reapplying to Bain next year or better to wait to apply until after business school?

I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

A lot will depend on the market segment you work in. Comp is usually higher the more upmarket (enterprise vs SMB). WLB is also better in enterprise (in my experience)
Also, how much travel is typically required for a Solutions Engineer?
New SE here: comp on Glassdoor is very accurate, WLB seems not too bad most of the time but definitely will get busy during certain times… I’m from consulting but a lot of my teammates are from diverse backgrounds
Say if you are joining the health and life sciences group . You don’t need SF experience but if you have HLS experience SF will hire you and train you on SF
Comp is competitive. WLB is solid. No traveling right now (mostly) because of COVID. Rewarding and satisfying work.
