I’m approaching my 6 month mark at my current company and will be asking for a raise.

I am a software development project manager at a 60 person company but manage 13 developers. I currently make a $75k salary — based on research it looks like I should be paid just over $100k but plan to ask for $90k. Any insight as to if this is a reasonable ask?

My performance review is coming up and my boss already told me we’ll talk raises and how happy he is with my performance. I’m very confident about meeting all the goals he’s evaluating based on. What are some recommended tactics for approaching the conversation? Is it recommended to aim for salary or commission (or both). NOTE: stock options are not up for this discussion as they follow a particular schedule.

I just graduated from college this year and I’ve been blessed to receive several job offers. I obtained my dream job, but the salary as an entry level employee isn’t very sufficient. I received an offer for a remote position, so I was wondering if it would be possible to manage two full time jobs at the same time if one is remote and the other was on site. Of course, I would make both employers aware and seek permission. I would really appreciate the community’s thoughts on this.

NYC attorneys & residents: does anyone know how far back (if at all) an energy company can retroactively increase your bill? I just got a bill for a few thousand $ stating they retroactively increased my monthly fee starting in August 2019 but they didn’t send someone out to look at the meter so it was never reflected in my bills until now. This seems very wrong to me but google wasn’t very helpful either, and neither is conEdison customer service. Please help!

Any firms that use CCH make sure your invoices are being checked carefully. We just reviewed ours and were over-billed the last 2 years. We were supposed to have discounts and the math wasn’t even correct across for the amount times the discount to the amount billed. The worst part is our rep then gave a bullshit story of how the list price was incorrect on the invoice but the amount billed was correct.

I’m considering joining EY in London. Currently at a boutique consultancy. I joined Fishbowl to try to get a sense ‘from the inside’ of the Big4 as I don’t have close contacts I can ask. I’ve seen a lot of griping in the other channels from more junior staff about comparatively low pay, EY not keeping up, clunky tech, etc. Is that just normal / expected grumbling? Would be really interested in the Partner perspective on this. Feel free to DM if more appropriate. Thanks!

I started a firm with three other colleagues about a year and a half ago. We all came from the same bigger firm and now obviously we are considered a very small. We want to make our first hire and hire someone for around $100,000 as a manager to manage around $200,000 of work. They came back at $120,000. After taxes and benefits that’s $150k to manage and prepare $200k of work. Anyone own a smaller firm who can share opinion? How much work should one manage for that kind of salary?

Should I try to negotiate or just take the money and jump ship. Feeling Seriously undervalued for what I’m bringing to the firm in terms of people building, sales, book of business. Hate to not be loyal, but $200K is $200K. Advice please
