Crossroads Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. I have been with the organization almost 6 years and have accomplished achievement of my MSL (Masters Strategic Leadership) and LOVE the organization…BUT…I am not having any success in moving into a new position…my interviews are great experiences but it seems to be a pattern of not being selected yet encouraged to continue applying…received information from a mentor/manager to ask for candid feedback…when is enough…ENOUGH??

This may be a dumb question, but is your linked on “open for jobs”? Not the green thing in your picture, the other thing that lets recruiters know.
Also, it just seems like it’s been bad luck. You’ll get one.
Yes, I have that feature activated. Am I the only one that feels like the “open for work“ tag seems thirsty? lol

Freelance and do a great job and they might offer you a FT job.
Great call, and if it doesn’t open up to a FT job – you still build your portfolio.
You're not missing anything. The job market is totally sus right now. Clients are cutting SOWs and pausing or canceling projects. There's so much uncertainty.
The freelance market is pretty thriving, though, if you're currently not working and willing to go freelance until something f/t comes along.
One thing I've noticed with freelance, though, is that a ton of agencies are not paying day rates and limiting billable hours per week to 20-25. However, these are also fully remote roles, so you can book multiple jobs and fill up your week to 40+ hours without an issue.
That’s happened to me as well brand-side. I was told by the recruiter that I was the top candidate, only for them to go radio silent. I followed up a few weeks later to find out that they ended up hiring a personal reco from the CMO.
In other instances, I’ve gone through rounds of interviews, and then a few weeks later I’ll see the exact same job reposted on linkedin with 200 more applications.
In those cases, it’s a blessing in disguise — if they seriously can’t find someone they like well enough to hire after multiple job postings with hundreds of applicants each time, that’s usually a signal that they’re impossible to please. I could understand if they were looking for very specific experience, but not when the job description is general CD fare.
My preference, honestly, is going through recruiters. I know the rates are hacked by a lot going that route, but I’ve never been good at reaching out to former colleagues and asking for help. I’m always the one offering to help anyone, but I absolutely suck at asking others. I’ll take the pay cut to have a recruiter do the work for me.

Sorry to hear, OP. Clients are cutting budgets and agencies that haven’t laid off yet are probably either waiting for Dec/January to do it OR are simply content w/ overworking their single CD and team of ACDs who oversee a group of cheaper mids and juniors. So they can maintain higher profits
For sure, definitely have that in mind. But also, not all companies are cutting budget so opportunities should be out there. Just need to be more efficient about finding them.
Following. Having the same experience.

Is the ‘big brand work’ in your portfolio good? Just having ‘work for big brands’ is not enough, it used to be, but not anymore. In times of recession they want to know that a hire brings added value instead of just ‘being able to handle big brands’. That’s a comfort hire. (A recruiter told me)
In any case: good luck! Hope something comes along.

OP I think it's a weird time now. Summer travel. Agencies feeling out the economy. Try for freelance and I hope you find a staff job through that. 🤙🏼
I think there are just a lot of good people that already have jobs out there looking for different jobs. We put a job post up and get a ton of good people at great companies that just want a change. DM me your resume. I will check it out.
