Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

I'd take a 15-20% paycut if it meant being able to work remote. I'm in office 5 days a week right now, and it's miserable. Not just because I spend all day on Zoom calls that I could just as easily conduct from home, but because it takes me around 40-50 minutes to commute each way.
Paid maternity leave! I just found out I'm pregnant, and my job only offers one month of paid leave, and then you have to rely on PTO or choose unpaid leave if you want to be out longer. I definitely would choose to have a lower salary if it meant three paid months of maternity leave.
Remote work for the win, they don’t lose anything from giving it and I save a bunch on commuting costs. Increased 401k matching is not bad either, but if they can’t give a high enough offer, I doubt they’d have the money for a higher match either.
Those are good choices. I'd also consider a lower offer if it involved remote work. The time spent commuting, and the cost of it, would make up for the lower salary if I could arrange that. Of course, remote positions seem to be going the way of the fax machine, so I don't expect that to ever come up.
