Honestly, I would just take the L
Truly a multifaceted statement
It honestly is so random, sometimes it’s 35 min sometimes it’s 1.5 hours. Would agree the L is more consistent and can get you there in probably 35 min.
Rising Star
It’s taken me an hour to get to the airport on a Sunday morning lol, there literally is no telling in Chicago. When I 100% care about making my flight (ie I paid for it and it’s not just a work flight I can change) I always allow at least a full hour, maybe more on a day like today
Always give yourself buffer time in this city.
Probably an hour. I would just take the el or the direct train
There’s no construction but traffic was building when I went to the airport this morning. Definitely give yourself extra time.
Always assume 1 hour from downtown to OHare +/- 15 minutes.
Thanks all. Sounds like I’m taking the L
You can use google maps to direct there on the blue line! Also make sure to get on the one that takes you all the way to ohare. If it’s not the direct one you may have to get off at the last stop and wait for a train that goes to ohare! They come every 5-10 minutes though so shouldn’t be a big deal either way.
Blue line may be quicker. It generally takes 45 minutes to an hour, but driving could take longer
It’s been very unpredictable lately.
