What is your favorite professional development conference to attend and why?

Looking for a career change, I’ve experience in project management, oncology, health promotion, engagement, inclusion and diversity and hoping to work for a pharma. Happy to relocate and would love some guidance and referral please 🙏🏾

I was interviewed for Angular. In JD it was mentioned Angular + Node.
I was told it's a second shift project, with MEAN technology stack.
Client is AT&T.
Anyone having idea about this?

Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review. She has since left the company, but there’s crazy turnover in the company & in the HR department in particular. Just that an HR coordinator resigned. Is it worth going back into a dumpster fire w/ no leadership to gain experience?

Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. I think the company is just trying to save money they overspent else where)

We should really get a virtual consultants bible study together, atleast through the midst of this.

I've noticed that my coworkers tend to work more on their own than with others, even when they're all in the office. Is this normal? I feel like it would be helpful for everyone to talk about their projects more often—I mean, what if someone else has solved the same problem you're trying to solve already?

I'm really having a difficult time understanding how engineering is supposed to be really competitive, most of the projects I've worked on were in groups and there wasn't usually a clear "leader," we were just on a team

I'm a product engineer and it's hard to turn off work mode at the end of the day, I think of how products *should* be packaged when I'm shopping and can't understand why my wife doesn't care 🤷

Currently: 28k student loan, 12k left on car payments, 0 credit card debt. 27k in savings + 3k in checking, 10k in stocks. 766 credit score and opportunity to get VA mortgage as a vet (aka no penalty for no down payment) Is it a smart move to purchase a 2|2 (325k) in an upcoming neighborhood, plan on maybe getting a roommate although I could afford the mortgage alone, but to help put more money into loans? Or should I not buy a house right? Thoughts?

I just signed up for a class that lets me write my own objectives and goals, work on them all summer, log my hours and share my successes and I get ACT48 hours and graduate credits! I can’t believe it- I figure I was going to do the work anyway- so why not get something out of it… first time I’ve been excited about doing work over the summer! 🎉

I was at a conference for PLC 2.0 this summer, some great speakers and ideas. Graduate credit was available also through Midwest Teachers Institute, and they were really affordable.
