I assume you accepted the temp role because you'd rather be there than be wherever you've been at up until now. Take the role you accepted, learn what you can while there, and as the end of your temp period approaches decide whether it's worth it to stay. I imagine with high turnover you'll probably want out eventually, though, so plan for that.
Is there other HR leadership there that you can learn from? Do you have any information about why the turnover is so bad? Are you giving up another role for the temp job?
If you’re not giving up another opportunity, since it’s a temp role it may be worth a try. I’d say not to stop looking for other opportunities, though - if you get there and love it the great, but if not you’ll have other options.
There’s a recruiting supervisor w/ HR experience so maybe. I have notice to my current job that I hate to go back to a team I love. HR turnover is due to impossible to deal with operations managers.
Having come from a dumpster fire....DON'T DO IT. Then again, it is only a temp role...so that gives you an easy exit? You could always test the waters and role into a long term position if the opportunity arose and it felt good? Tough one.
