What is your preferred method for approaching parent-teacher conferences? Do you make a separate sign-up for parents to come see you if you're an auxiliary like me? Or do you conference with their home room teacher?

I’ve worked in clinical research in the academic/non profit world for the past five years. I want to transition to a role in pharma or a CRO, but haven’t been successful yet because I don’t have industry experience. Too many cooks in the kitchen

I love my job in special education, the job may bring quite a bit of stress and exhaustion but nothing compares to the stress of the related service team. OT, PT, speech, BCBA, social worker, etc etc is really what’s killing me this year. It is 23 days into the school year and the team members all make different plans and as a result, nothing is being accomplished. And if paraprofessionals follow ie what OT says but not PT, it cause so much unnecessary conflict!

How long do you spend on core subjects if not a goal on IEP? So if most goals are life skills (putting shoes on, zipping, etc.) how long would you spend on math during math hour or how much do you worry about writing activities if they can’t write etc?

Without warning it looks like we'll be switching from consultant teaching to inclusion...what do I need to know. Never co-taught or done inclusion except for years and years ago and it was very informal. Best ways to build a solid relationship with the classroom teacher you're paired with? Pitfalls to watch out for? Thanks!
