From what I’m seeing, specific, applied skills tend to carry more weight than generic certificates. Things like “built X with Y model,” “automated Z workflow,” or “reduced time/cost by…” feel more credible than just listing courses. Certifications help, but demonstrated use usually matters more.
I am so sorry to hear that you were laid off. I am glad you asked this question, though, because I have been wondering the same thing. AI is taking over, and I do not want to fall behind.
Totally agree, it’s tough out there. Certifications like AI for Business (Wharton) or Google AI Essentials actually carry weight and show initiative.
