Would it be hard to get a exp associate role in advisory at a B4 as someone with about 10 months in audit at EY, 7 months experience in corporate accounting at a F300 and CPA? Hated my time at the F300 but had thought the grass would be greener in industry. I’m starting a financial analyst position at a major hospital system in my area soon and want to stick with that for a couple years before making a transition but was curious if I just don’t have the right experience for a role in advisory.

I work in commercial real estate retail leasing. Current employer just increased base to $100k with avg. 20-35% bonus/commissions combined. Received offer to exclusively work for a tenant and help them open new locations. $115k base 10% bonus & also stock options. Remote work, lots of driving, similar job title. I passed CPA and have audit experience but I don’t really understand how industry accounting cycle works :( What does it mean to close the books? Are they referring to 12/31 deadline? Do all JE have to be recorded within this date? How does one close it?

Only senior on a demanding client, managing multiple staff and managers. Does anyone have any insight into partners retiring early? I am at a point where I need to consider leaving if I am not aiming for partner. I don’t see myself working past my 40s. My partner and I are not big spenders and anticipate have enough to retire comfortably in 40s (obviously a lot can change). I have been assured I will become SM in next year (currently 31 years old).

Interviewing for PwC Audit Manager (currently another Big 4 Audit S3) sometime next week. 2 video interviews back-to-back.
