For me, it’s definitely impatience. I sometimes rush through things, hoping to move on to the next task quickly, which leads to mistakes. I’m also working on getting better at asking for help instead of trying to solve everything on my own. It’s a process, but I’m working on it
Pro
My communication and being able to accurately communicate with non-engineers.
Honestly for me is my weak leaders aka managers. They’ve proven to me that being a good engineer will get you more stepped on and less recognized. So now suddenly, I want to do less. Bad compensation and lack of growth opportunities.
Shyness
They put pressure on us regarding loss of civil service jobs back during BRAC. Not as knowledgeable about civil service law as I should have been. Was thus susceptible to threats abot getting things done way to fast. Position description forbade me from turning down work so worked on lots of things knew nothing about! (Did draw line on NEC hazardous (clsassified) locations - no job was worth the guilt of unnecessarily blowing people up in an explosve atmosphere. Plus wouldn't put myself above the organization (military) so when as new guy and training budgets cut to zero I didn't say it was unfair that I wasn't sent to the same training the existing engineers were sent to months after I arrived.
