Comparison is the thief of joy. Promotion next year doesn’t sound that bad in a vacuum — are you otherwise happy at your firm? Do you generally like the people you work with, do you like the work you get, is the culture good, etc.?
If you’re happy and paid well enough, it shouldn’t matter that others are getting promoted ahead of you. Stick with it and it’ll shake out how it should.
If you’re not happy, it also shouldn’t matter that others are getting promoted at a stinky firm you don’t wanna be at anyway. Start applying to get out of there.
Are there any other variables in play? Do they work more hours, bring in more work, have better relationships with partners or firm management, etc?
Wait it out - get promoted and then move with the partner title.
