So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?
Has Deloitte gotten laid off yet?

Hi fishes,
I am planning a switch so was going through some salary data for a software engineer. My ex-senior manager recommended me a website: Growceed.com which helped me a lot in getting clarification about a lot of things but I am in doubt whether the average salaries of software engineer mentioned on Growceed.com really that much in top MNC companies.

Agreed. Figure out unemployment and then start to applying

What firm?
Recruit and don't ever award any work to the company that laid you off.
Slalom is interviewing. Might be worth a look. Best of luck OP!
So to hear OP. Hang in there. Where you based?
NY
Make sure you file your taxes for the stimulus payments. Call parents, break lease if you have to.
Take a deep breath, stretch, take a minute to do something you enjoy to clear your mind. When you sit back down come up with a plan. My mother just got laid off and makes more on unemployment than she did at her previous job. All will be okay!
What firm? Curious because Deloitte is pushing hard that they aren’t planning on layoffs.
Apply for unemployment. As crazy as it sounds, there are a lot of companies still actively recruiting (inbound recruiter emails still coming). Also, what company / industry?
Definitely apply for unemployment and look around! There are big firms looking to hire - even during a time like this!
Sorry to hear. Agree with the above- take care of your unemployment benefits first. Then work your LinkedIn connections and apply to roles. Best of luck
Unemployment for sure, day one. (Theres a two week waiting period before you start getting checks usually, maybe they waived it for virus times) Did your place mention if it was just for a month till they reopen? Sorry to hear it, its completely fucking lame that agencies are doing that after two weeks of hardship.
What firm OP?
Feel for you. It will be tough. But you will get through it.
Goddammit OP what firm?!?!
It was covered in above the law and new york law journal
