What would you love to tell the people you report to but can't or won't? I'd really like to say that my PTO days might as well not exist because I'm still expected to answer texts and emails even though I'm "not working."

Is it as hard to take PTO as people say? I have a couple of long weekend trips planned (covid willing) in May and June, which is right after I start, but have heard that it’s normal to have to cancel plans due to last minute deals coming in. Any tips??
