Mandatory team building exercises or events.
Pizza parties.
Letting those who are lazy and non productive getting away with it, while everyone is accountable.
Micromanaging.
Don't tell people who actually do the job, better ways on how to do the job, when you have never done that job.
All of this will kill morale!

Lie to a group and spy on them. Encourage workers to report back to a supervisor what co-workers are doing or saying, in hopes of receiving a perceived reward or advancement.

Be an ultra micromanager. Be absent a lot. Don’t answer Questions. To say you’re doing good “but”. Pick out 1 or 2 people in the group chat to uplift and say that’s the way everyone should be doing it. Or if one person suggestion and it’s one of the favorites makes the same suggestion they get applause. Not caring about your team and it shows. Not empathizing and not treating them like their actual living human beings with feelings.

Every time the person speaks about the groups achievements they use the word I, like there the only one who worked on the project. Never saying we and giving the group the credit they deserve.

If you ask for a release, he will either not release you or release with a very bad rating and influence other project managers to not take you into their projects.

You will be left with no choice other than leaving TCS.

I work through a contractor, and was hired 2yrs ago to be a Systems Test Engineer II. They decided last minute to make me a Software Content Manager, but kept my title as is since it was supposed to be a 6mo rotation. I’m still an SCM, and am taking on leadership roles in the group. How do I ask for a title change and pay increase to reflect what I actually do? Do I ask my contract house, or my NASA mgmt? Should I ask to make the pay retroactive since I was hired to do one thing, but do another?

Does where you get your masters degree matter? I’m in an online environmental science masters program at an expensive “name-brand” school, but have colleagues telling me I should transfer to a less expensive program to save $ because no one cares about where your degree is from. A HR question I really want to understand. ISRS HR quoted a podcast "The not so great resignation" saying 70% regret leaving and many want to go back to old employer. If this really the case the employee likely left due to higher pay at the new company. If they want to boomerang back they will likely come back at even a higher rate than they left the new company for. So getting double raise when they boomeranged. Isn't it unbeneficial, why not just give employee a 7% raise in the first place?

Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified? Interviewed for a GS-15 (same agency but different office) and totally aced the interview with excellent answers. They know I’m a top performer with senior references. However I noticed there was an internal candidate who has been there for few years and interviewed that’s a veteran. I feel my chances just sank and want to gauge thoughts.

Hey guys… I’m a case worker in child safety and I’m someone who loves being outdoors/dies at a desk all day. I’m hoping to organise that at least once a week I can go to a cafe and catch up on all my case notes that need to go into the system.
