Whats more important to you when it comes to compensation, time off or salary? I see both as fairly important but in different ways.

I want to say both, for obvious reasons. However, if I had to choose one I would say time off. The older I get, the more I really value time off with friends and family.

like

Both are important, but I'd say salary is more important. Time off matters, but most organizations provide a more or less standard amount of time off. Salary can vary a lot more, so concentrating on getting a higher salary can make a difference.

It's a personal preference and may depend a lot on the phase of life you are in. The most important thing for me is spending time with my kids while they still live at home. So time off is valued more than salary. But earlier on in my career, pay was more important. I like having the opportunity to "buy" vacation days.

Salary matters more to me these days

I recently moved from litigation to transactional and am struggling to reach billable targets. In litigation it was no problem hitting 1800+ hours but don’t see how I’m going to come anywhere close to that in a transactional role.

I’m mostly sitting around all day waiting for work that doesn’t take long to complete (though at my desk for 10-12 hours/day). Is this normal? Suggestions on how to keep busy other than asking for work and having good work product?

Can anyone give me their honest opinion on working at Eli Lilly, the Indy site? I have a few coworkers that have worked there in the past but no one recently. I’m currently being recruited pretty seriously for a in-vivo technician position in the auto-immune team, but I already have a job lined up at Envigo as a small animal sx tech. Salaries would be comparable (Lilly would most likely be a little more with bonuses), but if the culture sucks, I’d hate to burn a bridge with Envigo.
