NYC 125,000-195,000
Yup! I am on the top of that range but started at 125k when promoted to AD. Granted, I have been aggressive about negotiating and getting paid a premium.
When I talk to recruiters they usually are in the 130-140 range. Easiest to ask for increase when switching. Don't ever talk about what you make. Rather, talk about the number that would motivate you to move. Aim higher. Higher than you think possible. Be confident and dont waver. Of course, this only works if you are a desirable hire.
that's accurate. i'm in the middle of that range with 2 years AD exp
75 is pretty good for AM. I would expect an account Supervisor to be between 60-95. They could reach up to $110,000 if on the cusp of promotion. Also depends on how many levels at your agency. I went from supe to director, but some places have management supe, associate director, VP titles, etc. If you are at $75k, seems like you could fight to add a "senior" to your title.
Can someone please clarify the various levels vs titles in account management at a creative agency in NYC? I'm currently working in a major creative agency (health subsidiary) in London, am mid level (acct manager) and get 40K. Reading the above posts make me more sure of relocating back to NYC...
^^For an account director???😳😳
That's impressive! What agency are you at? Y'all hiring?
Related question - is $75K reasonable for an account manager in NYC?
Chicago probably 90-150k
Is this for creative account director? Or account management- Account Director?
Account Management
I should teach classes 😉
In pharma agencies, in NYC - Acct Dir $130-140-150K; Assoc Acct Dir $125K, Acct Sup before that $110K, Sr AE $85-90K
@account manager 1 - surely that's not dollars??
Levels vary by agency, but in general: AAE>AE>AS>MS>AD>GAD. The trickiest title is Account Manager, because in agencies outside of NYC, that's generally the AE level, but in many NYC agencies, that's their title for the AS level (so 5-8 years experience). Also, a lot of agencies don't have the Management Supervisor level.
If you're a sup getting a promotion, anything specific you should look for in your negotiations to director? At what point do you get bonuses for health of the account and/or bringing in new biz?
