What’s the best company perk you’ve ever had or secretly wish existed? I once worked somewhere that gave us an annual “work-from-anywhere” month, plus a little travel stipend to make it happen (a total game changer!). I've also heard of teams getting housecleaning credits or pet insurance. It’s amazing how thoughtful perks like that make you feel valued beyond just the job title. What’s the most memorable perk you have come across?

Some very cool perks! I have a friend who gets a paid sabbatical at, I believe, 10 years into their company. I had never heard of a paid one, even ‘permission’ to take a sabbatical seems to be fading away from most benefit plans.

That is a seriously cool perk! A paid sabbatical feels almost unheard of these days, especially with how even unpaid ones are becoming rare. It’s such a great way to reward long-term commitment, and honestly, more companies should bring that kind of benefit back.

That's incredible. I had a travel "bonus" at an early company I worked for and it was incredible. Like 5k before taxes, and you could go anywhere. Only problem was they never wanted you to take more than 5 consecutive business days off work. So flying to Europe (which I did) felt like such a rush for how expensive the flight was. I'd rather have a month :) Still very cool though.

That sounds amazing! A $5k travel bonus is generous, but the short time off kind of defeats the purpose. It’s hard to truly enjoy when you’re rushing through a trip like that. A longer break would’ve made it perfect! Would you be able to work remote for a few days in Europe to stretch the vacay?

I really don’t think the perks have to be super creative for most employees. Most of us want work life balance and so I think any perk that allows “wfh Fridays” or work remotely for “x” amount of weeks per year would solve 90% of burnout and resentment. Just my two cents!

Totally agree - most people aren’t looking for flashy perks, just the flexibility to live their lives. Perks like WFH Fridays or remote weeks are simple, but they make a huge difference in avoiding burnout and feeling valued.

My brother works for a global company that sent him a welcome to the company gift when he started and they also do early dismissal during the summer months on fridays.

I have worked for numerous companies and have had to pay for my own swag. So I’m somewhat jealous. :)

That sounds like such a thoughtful onboarding experience. Those little gestures like a welcome gift or summer Fridays go a long way in making people feel appreciated!

This isn’t a crazy part, but at my old company a couple of years after I got 16 weeks for maternity, they increased it by adding 6-8 weeks recovery time (depending on delivery type) so women got 22-24 wks. We get 16 weeks at my new company and I’m pregnant again, I can’t complain since the leave is above average, but I would’ve loved that extra paid time.

Being able to work from anywhere for a month or getting a travel stipend or paid sabbatical sound truly amazing. I’m also always a little jealous of people who get the week off from Christmas to New Year’s.

First line was meant to say “this isn’t a crazy perk”, not part

And yes I’m def grateful to get 16 weeks!

Hello, I am a junior business administrator working in advisory operations. I have been with the company for 6 months, and was employed along with 2 other colleagues. I have picked the job up really fast and am even doing some “extra curricula’s” I really love my job. However I have recently found out I am being paid the same as an apprentice on my team, I usually do at 3 x the work he does whilst also doing my Cert CII. It has really disheartened me and I feel I should be earning more money
