Bain & Company Is it truly easier to get in a smaller MBB office?
Have heard a lot for different opinions on these. The logic is that it’s easier because there is a lot of supply in cities like NY, Chicago and SF, but the counter argument is that the offices with less supply are also way smaller and have a lot less demand.

Hi Fishers, I have accepted Walmart offer and my BGV has started 3 weeks ago. How do I check my BGV status? I will be joining in mid May. Also, I have been hiding one of the company where I had worked for 45 days and then absconded due to personal issues. Would it create any trouble? They had created my PF account though. Any help would be highly appreciated

If you’re white like me it’s so important to realize that we were raised in a society where institutionalized racism is normalized, and we were born with privilege. You can’t choose the color of your skin, but you can choose to put ego aside and reflect on why this isn’t happening to me, and be vocal about being anti-racist.

I feel like most juniors feel this way. First, if you know you're excelling in your role, have the proof to back it up and start the conversation with your manager about getting promoted. Junior to mid is the easiest jump to make, but some people just aren't proactive enough about it. Work in the fact that you're trying to take on more responsibility.
Second, connect with mids, seniors and maybe even ACDs to get a feel for what they're working on and if they need any help. Word will get around that you're light. And even if it feels like more of the same, you'll be getting more exposure across the agency.
Do you guys do a lot of new business pitches? Raise your hand for that with your manager.
And if you feel like you're getting stonewalled in all of the above, it's time to move on to a new role. Easier said than done in this job market.
2-3 weeks is pretty standard. So is losing a pitch.
I get the war room is crazy, but at the very least, it should be helpful to connect your name to your face to your ability. Maybe reach out to some of the leadership on those after the fact just to connect over coffee and give a more formal introduction.
Bring the war to the front lines yourself. Don’t be an infantryman, be a mercenary.

Bring proactive ideas to cd’s across the agency on different accounts. One may get made. And even if they don’t get made it will get you noticed.
This is the way
Legitimate to have that conversation. Consider your audience before you pick a tonality.
I feel that’s what agencies are now, they work to meet or slightly go beyond “soft wiggle balls” You want more? Work on stuff that is backed by money and has time to get to market. Real talk.
Volunteer for new business. More creative freedom

Take the extra energy and invest it in a creative passion that’s your own.
Too soon for that. Career first at this point.
Have you gotten any reviews or feedback? Just make sure you’ve been nailing the “mind numbingly easy” work before you start asking for more challenges.
Clients and CDs are happy. I’ve been seeking out copy only assignments for smaller things here and there and people seem pleased at that stuff too. Getting rewritten a lot less than when I started as well.
They never needed you in the first place and hired you for budget/quote reasons…
Just soak up the experiences, learn what everyone does and continue to look for better opportunities.
Never beg for more work, your managers know your work load and if not, they are a terrible manager/CD which is what this industry is filled with.
