Starting unqualified but constantly learning and making progress is perfectly acceptable to me. Just do the extra effort to not be blocked by always the same stuff as in this case you won’t be able to « fake it » for long...
Why not in this case and in other cases yes?
One thing I remember from industry is not caring how capable my coworkers were, but how easy they were to work with. If you're humble, easy to collaborate with, go the extra mile, are good communicator, a lot fewer people will realize or care how much you know (assuming you're also working hard to upskill).

Just fake it till you make it 👌
Find a couple of really good technical ppl at your job, befriend them and take them out for lunch and drinks when you need them. Makes them feel appreciated and helps you get your sh*t done.
I think every consultant fakes it, even partners. It’s the way you do it that makes you successful.
It’s partly, framing the problems in a way that makes it simple for everyone to understand, asking the right questions, learning just a little bit in every meeting, and coming to the next meeting knowing little more than the previous meeting.
There no issue in not knowing something. Just have to make clear that you have a plan on a way to figuring it out and find the answer
I have worked with a lot of unqualified people and they didn’t get fired. Just find a great mentor and put the effort to develop some skills - communication skills and writing competent emails are both a good start.
when you make it you simply stop faking it
