There are many opportunities in law enforcement without going to college. For example, many police departments hire officers who have only a high school diploma or GED.
Most jobs in law enforcement require at least some college education. There are a few exceptions, such as police officers or deputy sheriffs who work for small town or county law enforcement agencies, but these positions generally do not offer the same level of advancement or pay as jobs in larger agencies.
I didn't go to college and I could become a police officer or a detective. I could also work for a security company or as a private detective. There are many options available to me and I am sure that I could find something that fits my interests and abilities.
There aren't many opportunities in law enforcement that don't require a college degree. Most agencies are looking for candidates who have a degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field. There are some exceptions, but they are few and far between. I'm not saying that it's impossible to find a job in law enforcement without a degree, but it will be much more difficult. The competition is fierce and most agencies are looking for the most qualified candidates possible.
