I recently interviewed with MITRE for a systems engineering role to make the move from Leidos where I feel underpaid for the work I do and for my experience ($85K). I have 4 YOE, a STEM degree, and soon will have a Masters Degree. I’m looking to make around $120K in the new role at Mitre. Does anyone have any insight into comp there? This would be in the DC metro area. Does $120K seem reasonable or am I dreaming?

Once you find out, let me know as i will be making a similar move in a couple weeks. In my mind, it will be the shift from always having clients assigned to you and knowing exactly what needs to be done to complete an audit vs simply running / monitoring operations.
I'm still trying to land a Controller job myself. I'm currently an audit manager. I have made it to the last round of interviews for 3 jobs but they always go with the person "with actual Controller experience". I guess I have to find the right company that will look at the long term picture of hiring a solid, experienced auditor.
Make up some experiences on your resume that can make you sound at least capable of doing month end closings. Basically a glorified bookkeeper but depends on the industries you are applying to.
You can cook the book instead of auditing one? 😂
