They all have their different stresses.

IR is just mind numbing and boring, unless you’re working on something exciting like MGM lol.

Reviewing privacy policies/terms and conditions for clients is pretty chill. Also preparing AI workplace policies. Preparing incident response plans isn’t too bad either. Personally, I don’t find IR to be stressful just annoying. Really great for billable hours.

Each person is going to have their own preferences. I enjoy advising on UX design, but I don't get to do it everyday. Incidents are often a shitstorm, but it can be really interesting and enjoyable to put together different pieces of the puzzle, especially when you've told the security/fraud teams they need to dig deeper on something, and it turns out you were right.

How transferable is IR to other privacy areas? I'm in it now and Do Not want to be here for long

@aa2 it sucks. My firm is the same and I’m part of that advisory group lol. They want us to bill just like IR and it’s not possible. They’re missing out on so much $$$ to go after the fast insurance $

I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

Hi all! I’m inclined on taking up the CIPM training and certification exam. I’m already a certified Data Protection Officer in the Philippines. I intend on skipping CIPP as it applies to the US and EU.

How difficult was the exam? Can you share your experience studying for the CIPM exam? Is it advisable to skip CIPP?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi all,
Been doing privacy for about a year now in-house. Got my CIPP/US.
Having major imposter syndrome still. I feel like the minute I finally have a grasp, something changes. The law and nuances just seem overwhelming. Maybe it’s just a lack of guidance/uniformity in the US. I’m not sure if I feel this way because it is simply the nature of the work or because I’m just not capable.
