The tech job pays 15k more, but from what I can see will be a cluster and super long hours (has EU stakeholders). Maybe a pipe dream, but I want to have a "somewhat" decent wlb while still growing my career toward strategy and finance.

I have got an offer letter from cognizant which is having the compensation of 10.2LPA. Now I have got another offer from LTI and the compensation is 11LPA. But I need to join COGNIZANT. Is there any chance for changing the compensation again in cognizant? Will they be able to change the compensation again? Is it so then how to approach them. I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!

A friend was told their firm will cut ties EOY if certain things don’t improve. Friend had planned to quit in the next year anyway (to start their own business), so there is no real incentive to bend over backwards. Friend’s goal is to keep the income for a little longer, but to minimize conflict / headaches. What’s the best move here? Wait until EOY and take the severance? Give 6 / 9 / 12 months’ notice now? Is there such a thing as too much notice? Could too much notice backfire?

How many matters is typical for one associate to handle (BL lit)? I know it is group-specific, but just trying to get a general idea. I’m a 2nd year and I am the only associate staffed on about 30 cases-meaning I keep track of all deadlines, do all day to day assignments, keep on top of following up with client/OC, and all research/drafting. Partners handle deps/court but that is about it. Is this a normal case load to be responsible for as a jr? I being dramatic by thinking this is too much?

So I pulled an all nighter on Monday to do this thing, spend Tuesday like a zombie (and I had 5 calls!!!) then on 6PM the senior reviewing my work came back with comments that I needed to turn “ASAP”. I was so tired I just said I would not because I needed to sleep. I sent them today at 1:30 PM.
Would you get mad if your mid-level/junior did that? I’m all for pulling all-nighters and billing but everything has a limit.
