What's your take on Lunch and Learn meetings? They are always listed as optional, but I always feel like I'm being judged hard when I don't attend. Lunch is the only real break time I get in the day... and I don't even take it every day.

I don’t usually have time to attend them. I think they are great for our younger associates who don’t have a huge caseload, as well as our paralegals. But most of us busier attorneys can’t really make time for them because we are so busy.

You don’t have time for a firm paid for lunch for a hour 1x month?

Our firm does a good job with them - and we get cle credit and we usually bring in outside professionals to talk.

35 attorneys in firm- 95% show up at least every other month.

Highly expected if you are mid level or earlier.

I’m getting pushback on boundaries I’m setting about additional matters and marketing work from my firm when I’ve been billing 60-75 hours per week for the last 6 weeks, and I’m still behind on my work. I feel like it’s reasonable to not kill myself further to fit in more/turn things around faster at this point, but am I being unreasonable? I expect my workload to remain at this level through the end of the year at least.
