When asked where I see myself in five years, I don’t know what I can say authentically because the pace of change makes any long term predictions feel speculative. I want to sound thoughtful and not scripted but I can’t even see five years into the future anymore. Help 😅

I would suggest framing your response around “growth” personal and for the company of course because that’s what they want to hear. Ask yourself what you want to accomplish/achieve (learn a new dev language, automate processes, grow into a higher position, more senior level). Always tie it to the company. If they shared some of their pain points, use that for your answer.

Always remember…. They want to know if you’ll be able to solve their problems and help them grow. Is not about you is about THEM. sad but true and is how you can land the offer.

Good luck!

I’ve always wondered what the purpose is of this kind of question.

like

When asked that question I want to say "not here" because that's probably the reality. I've had many jobs over the years and only one was more than 5 years. It's not typical for people to hang around for the long term these days.

Every time I hear that question, I keep thinking about Hans Gruber in Die Hard. "Lying on a beach, earning 20%" I mean, why not? If you're going to dream, dream big, right?

A good response is: Believe that your organization is as good as you say, then I can see myself here in 5 years

Its so your leader can check a box and say they talked to you about your IDP 🙄

I'm a marketer and I'm having a hard time getting my clients to listen to me.

I have been in marketing for 10 years now. I've worked with hundreds of clients and have been able to increase their sales by over $1 million each year.

But every time I go into a meeting with a new client, they ignore everything I say. They just want to talk about their product. They don't seem interested in learning how to market it better.

Hi all!
I’m currently on my last year of university, pursing a computer science degree. I have yet to get an internship, or any experience in tech. Any advice on where to start? I would be attending part time in the spring semester and taking night classes so I would like to have something set up for January, let me know what you think. Thank you in advance.

I received an offer for 80k to work as a desktop engineer for TCS at one of their client’s locations.
