Are there any former management/strategy consultants who are now in big law (corporate), and could offer some advice on why corporate law might be a better choice? I’m a 2L having a hard time deciding whether to go into big law or consulting. I’ve heard from many who went from law to MBB and prefer consulting, but want to also hear from people who left consulting and why corporate big law might better.

9 months ago, I posted on this app that I was leaving FAANG for MBB. Every single responder discouraged me from doing it given worse WLB, less pay per hour worked, etc. I’m here to say that you were all correct. Every single one of you. I would go back in an instant if I could.

How much of the MBB work post COVID has been in cost takeouts?

Are MBB sponsored MBA students expected to return to their home firms for the summer between their two years? I know you're obligated to go back post-MBA, but what about the summer in between?

Coming up on 2 years at MBB and having trouble finding exit ops with corporate strategy / operations associate roles. Have been searching for ~2 months. Starting to think exit opportunities are a bit overblown. Anyone have similar experience?

Is there anyone who has worked for MBB before joining Deloitte? I took the plunge- I was in the Knowledge Consulting track (so, same hours, same work, half pay compared to integrative) with McKinsey, joined Deloitte about 6 months back... But things seem such lower quality compared to pretty much everything McK. And this stretches from the quality of solutions, to D's ability to counsel clients,to the benefits package AND to back office processes.

Is this expected?Or am I doing something wrong?

People keep saying working at MBB is not like working at Big4. What does that mean?? In what ways is it different?

Is it possible to get hired with 3-4 years consulting experience (without MBA) at the post-MBA role at MBB? If not, anyone have experience moving firms after b school?

Graduate in may from undergrad, joining MBB. Have 15k in savings + 10k signing coming in… do I spend 10k on a euro trip this summer? Or be responsible?

Is it worth going to a T15 school if I currently make 97k with 3 YOE with cpa but can find another job for ~120k. Looking to pivot from B4 to MBB only.

I think I may have made a huge mistake today. My skip level director sent out an email about something and asked us for feedback. I sent back a note and provided some. One of the things I said was that our job satisfaction might be improved if we could do more of X kind of work instead of Y kind of work that we do so much of in our group. The next thing I know, I get a ping from his EA to set up time for me to chat with him and my director tomorrow. I am getting in trouble tomorrow, right?

I've been working at a small marketing agency for 3 years now. I started when I was an intern and they ended up hiring me full time.

My intern included graphic design and web development but I didn't really get too far into the developer role. My starting salary was 32k/yr and three years, two title changes and raises later I'm only at 42k/year.
