I feel like the best time to apply is right after the New Year. Like February. The worst time might be around the holidays.
Anytime is the best time to apply for a job because you'll never know when opportunities will knock at your door.
Just don't give up keep applying and take a break if needed. Make sure to keep your head high and be hopeful! Keep finding helpful tips online and recruiters in your area. In finding a job process I became good friend with few recruiters - Any time I applied for a job. I was able to trust them and get some information as I wanted about the company culture etc Also glass door is helpful.
I got job in Dec and I was out of work for 6 months.
Wish you best of luck!
The worst time is during the holidays, basically the last two weeks of the year. Other than that, I think it's fair game.

I disagree with this… teams often lose the headcount when the new year starts so they want to get someone in the door. I once skipped a final round and got an offer bc it was the last two weeks of the year and the MD was out for the holidays
I would just say you can appply at anytime but it is important to not be too desperate because you might ignore red or yellow flags
