Can someone please explain the draw to Goodwin? I’ve seen way too many posts on here with people considering offers from them. Trying to understand how it’s not a red flag that they stealthed 100 associates last year and are hiring like crazy because of that. Do your diligence!

I switched two years ago from regional real estate/energy to a local small, but established residential real estate practice. While I’ve gained so much practical experience and run my own book here, I want to shift to a non-traditional remote role in real estate but keep getting turned down. I have strong credentials but I’m worried this small firm experience is killing my marketability to large companies.
I have received an joining bonus from Accenture. However I have to leave before completion of year due to better opportunity.

The hiring manager for the role I’m interviewing for was fired right after my final round. Recruiter emailed to tell me decisions would be pushed off another week because they need to fill the role before proceeding. What do you make of this?
OK folks, I'm kind of pissed. I interviewed with a dream company, made it to 6 interviews (all the way up to VP). Weeks later the recruiting manager shares they went with someone internally, no feedback. Today I see the same position being promoted. Do I pursue the same role or take this as a sign that I wasnt a good fit after all and let it go?
What you didn't know about engineering...

I have worked in business development for 5 years and quit my work late last year due to personal reasons. I'm now actively looking to get back into work and am considering Luxembourg as an option. Any idea how the job market is w.r.t. non-technical roles(account manager, account executive, etc.) and will companies sponsor visa for such roles??
I am currently based in Madrid where I was last employed.
I think my dad is in a deep depression and I don’t know how to help. I think his general “laziness” stems from that but my family’s anger toward him for not trying to find a job or contribute at all to the household has created resentment against him so it’s a vicious cycle. He doesn’t want to help himself (probably because he is depressed) and that makes people not want to help him. Any suggestions?
Hi. Hope everyone is safe and well.
Signed the offer, background check is completed and got a start date.
How long does it take for Career Launch to set up everything?

Bank clients- I know the chairman of a local but growing bank in my town. I want to reach out to market my firm and services, but I’m curious how I could be more specific in my discussions. I don’t want to say “I’m a transactional attorney” but I’d like to say “I could help with loan documents, UCC filings, etc.”. It’s the “etc.” I want to elaborate on. Anyone have any ideas what banks really need legal help with? Thanks!

I am considering making a proposition to the partners at my firm to take over our satellite office and make it my own whereby I would be associated but not employed by the firm. Lots of factors at play making this a good idea for all, but I need help on how to structure the plan and present it so it’s mutually beneficial and attractive to them. Anyone done anything similar and willing to chat/help me come up with a plan? Or do I need some kind of business coach and how would I find one?
Can anyone offer advice on how you picked a practice area as a solo? I'm currently a biglaw associate wanting to finally open my own shop but have found myself paralyzed by this question. I don't think my current clients, large health plans, would hire me as a solo, but I do love being in the healthcare space (except for medmal) and want to continue working in a highly regulated area of law. Thanks in advance.
For the estate planning practitioners here, do you: a) maintain safe deposit boxes full of original Wills for your clients? Or b) send clients home with original Will after signing? Or c) file Wills after signing in probate court having jurisdiction?

Need more info. Is a Managing Attorney the same thing as a Managing Partner? Would you still be doing legal work?
Not a partner position. This firm does not offer partnership opportunities. It would be like a manager for the attorneys. Overseeing the attorneys, assisting the attorneys with questions and issues that may arise, intervene with client issues, etc. Not sure whether the owner would expect the person in that position to still do legal work. For an idea I currently make 164k as an associate attorney. I would expect higher as a managing attorney but dont know what is reasonable to ask for.
