When I first started my cashiering position with this major company, I was content with $16 an hour because I was doing a career change from a 10-year restaurant manager with the anticipation of moving up. Now I'm in the women's shoe department with the same responsibilities as the merchandisers, plus my sales position, while still making only $16 an hour after 6 months. I've talked to my manager, and she's telling me I'll be earning the money I'm asking for in about 3 more years.

I’m currently in a lease admin type role, in commercial real estate. I make a base salary of $50.5K with about $9k in bonuses. I’ve continuously received 7-10% raises over the last 3 years. I anticipate getting a promotion this year and would like to get closer to $60k for my base salary. I’m the only person in my role at the company and have been a key person in developing our team as we look to expand. Is this unreasonable? Is there a normal increase given with promotions? Thanks in advance!
