When I have worked on more indie films, I had to one the one to pay for all the props with my own money and they would reimburse me afterwards- sometimes the total amount doesn’t add up and I seem to be losing money! How do you approach this situation?

How does the reimbursement work? Make sure to keep all the receipts and maintain clear communication throughout the whole thing. Work with them on why it’s not adding up. Not ok for them to expect you to pay out of your pocket and then not even fully reimburse you.

Exactly- that’s the main struggle is keeping the communication flowing!

I guess we're talking really really DIY films? I haven't ever encountered this because Ive always been on sets that have some kind of budget. I would keep all receipts and make official invoices so there's no confusion

Yes I need to keep them to avoid any confusion!

I also enjoy working with others frequently and finding a solution together, instead of having individual workstreams. I can hold my own in front of a crowd as long as I’m confident in...
