When they really fear AI…

I don't really see how that's them fearing AI. Right there in the email it mentions using Copilot (GPT-4) unless you have an approved use-case for a different one. Surely if they feared AI they would be saying something more like "all other AI use-cases are prohibited".

That email to me very much reads along the same lines as "we're blocking Discord / other chat apps, all chat must go through Teams". It's a pretty normal IT security policy.

Agreed, pretty standard policy email.

Attempting to shore up risk from the sheeple that just google any AI/ML site, product or service and start pumping company, client data into them to get a task done. That’s the risk this seems aimed at to me.

MSFT and your firm likely have an agreement and your company can get access to logs, data sent into copilot so the risk is lower using this service vs the newest girlfriend bot tossed in the ChatGPT store.

You can’t be putting your company financial data to fix your English on ChatGPT. It’s a common practice all IT Infosec or CISOs are doing. They should have ideally done this eight months.

Agreed on the timing element

they don't want data leakage

They're afraid of a internet proxy service leveraging Internet records to manipulate the market.

It’s so nice that every agency laying off people, have those left standing (and other agencies) trying to hustle jobs for their unemployed friends, but there are also a ton of people who were unemployed prior to Covid...so no severance, job hunting lot longer, and not earning income for longer time...hurting even MORE due to quarantine.

I had a very positive experience interviewing with Amazon for an L5 Technical Writer role. I originally applied for a lower level writing role, ending up acing my Loop, and was passed on to speak to the hiring manager for the L5 role.

Given the positive tone of our conversation, I expect to receive an offer this week.

Can somebody tell me what kind of base salary/bonus/RSU ranges I should aim for? I'm transitioning to tech and have 10+ years of professional writing experience. PNW based.

Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I don’t want to waste time (colleagues mentioned it doesn’t get much better from here). Do I embrace the suck or look for other opportunities?

I’m currently a Grade 11 at Cisco. With the recent pay structure changes my annual comp will be $150k + 12% bonus. I live in a large metro area in the middle of the US. I’m looking to move around the company so that I can make commission but I don’t want to be an account manager. Can anyone tell me if there are Customer Success Managers, etc positions that manage customers post sale and have a similar range base as me with commission plans? I’m just trying to understand income potential.

Considering a jump from FTE back to consulting. I have roughly 8 IT YOE, CSPO, CSM, and my MBA. With that background and currently being in a candidate's market, roughly what should I target as my salary?

Right now, I'm at 100k with 5% bonus as a BA.

I’m seriously enatkng to get into an SE role and have been searching for Associate Sales Engineers that do NOT require SE experience since I’ve none. It’s proving to be difficult. Most companies for some reason are requiring 2-3 years of experience for the Associate role. 😭 Any Sales Engineers who know of companies hiring those with no experience? I am in tech as a BDR already.
