It's not even 9 in the morning and you are worried. When you work at an MNC or a big company, you don't have to worry about your salary as long as you have provided your bank account number correct. It will be a different case if you are working via a third party.

Timing might vary based on the bank. If the company's bank is ICICI, ICICI Bank accounts will receive the first salary out of all, then the other bank accounts follow. I got my salary today at 6.00 am but I also have got at 6.00 pm sometimes as well. There's a chance you wouldn't get the message from Bank since all the messages are bulk and initiated at the same time. So :
1- Wait till evening and check with your colleagues or friends at Birlasoft who has same bank account as yours
2 - Check your bank account, sometimes the salary will reflect in the account but you won't get the message
3 - If you haven't got your salary within today - say 10.00 pm, report this to your payroll department
I'd say why wait? Ask the HR right away. Any type of question is a valid question. Do not hesitate
May be today they will release your whole amount
Patience buddy, patience. Keep checking your account. If it doesn't show up by evening, connect with your HR.

The time varies from employer to employer and bank account to bank account. A few years back my wife and I used to work for the same company but had different salary accounts. My salary would get credited in the noon and her's will get credited only late evening.
In my current organization salary gets credited anywhere between 3-6 am in the morning.
Most decent MNC's would reach out to you before payroll processing date if your bank account details or any other payroll related details are missing. Even then you could have checked with them if everything was okay. Why would you wait till the payout date and then get worried??
Seriously? Are you expecting your salary at 12:00:00 AM?
Big companies usually have multiple bank accounts
They calculate salaries for all employees and a file is generated for each bank. That file is sent to the respective banks (most probably automated)
The banks will then go through each entry and start crediting one by one usually starts in business hours I guess.
So it takes a while. Just have patience or confirm with your HR if they have everything they need for the salary transfer.
I work in Virtusa and I usually get my salary between 3 and 5 in the evening.
It's been like this every single month ever since I joined (~2 years back).
