Communication. Understanding strengths, weaknesses and ENCOURAGING room to grow and exploring within the organization.
Investment in my personal success and fulfillment.
Advocacy to their leadership.
As communication moves upward in any given organization, it tends to become more and more abstracted into reports, which undermines the human impact.
Leaders need to constantly be reminded that the numbers on their spreadsheets represent individual people, so they confront the true weight of their strategies.
Please just fire people who can't perform or are unpleasant instead of trying to make the rest of us deal with them forever.
Having a clear timeline for growth and advancement for the full team. It always feels like everything is in purgatory all the time
Inclusion, closely related to transparency and open communication

A GCD or ECD who sticks up for their creatives’ ideas, and insists Strat and account respect the work.

Transparency
So you really believe that everyone at every level is entitled to know all the details about client relationships, billing, future plans, that the leadership knows? It’s astounding.
Above everything else people will respond to you and remember you based on how you make them feel.
Shared vocabulary for success.
Clarity, fairness, communication, and listening. Willingness to take up issues that affect me but which I do not have the power to solve.
These are all so important. If you had the transparency, inclusion, growth plan, trust, shared goals, empathy, advocacy, kind feedback etc consistently…how would you be different at work and in your life? What would fall away and what would thrive?
On a functional team, one in which other people could be relied upon to do *their* jobs, I would not be so constantly stressed. I'd sleep at night, focus more, and be even better at *my* job.
No fear of feedback. Discretion (instead of gossip).
