Vision - But not managing only up. Share that down and focus on growth. Retention has just been diminished over the last few years.

Not just being a sounding board, but ACTION....TAKE ACTION, otherwise its pointless....
Respect, empathy and actual leadership, which means fighting FOR your team, not fighting against them.
Honesty. I need to be able to trust the words you're saying. Respect my intelligence enough to do that.
I always say the difference between a good vs. bad boss is one who as a first instinct, takes the blame vs. blames others. So yeah, someone who assumes responsibility like that, to me, is everything.
Support, guidance, an interest in growing/investing in the team (and not just their own career trajectory). Transparency. Clear communication, humour and empathy.
