Indeed… Boolean strings can also help dig up postings on companies that don’t use LinkedIn or job boards.
Agreed with the above — if you have a list of companies you prefer - make connections there with recruitment & resource management (via LinkedIn or their website’s contact page). It’s not a 100% guarantee, but can help.

It can pay off to go old school, scout out companies you want to work for and haunt the careers section of their web sites. Or do some social engineering and find out who might be doing the hiring and approach them directly. Job postings are, I often think, an obligatory thing companies do to satisfy internal HR requirements. But hitting them up directly might be more productive.
