Hello Gang, I’m on the business side for Walmart right now. Walmart Global Tech recently offered me a role to move to the San Bruno office, but I’d be taking a demotion from L6 to E5. YOE: 8, COMP(200k base, 25% bonus, 100k RSU). Is this competitive in the bay? I have Doordash and Instacart in the pipeline, but no final offers yet.

Anyone here received offer for an experienced associate position in management consulting at PwC in the last couple of weeks? I know a handful of us done with the partner round interview and are waiting for the feedback. No response from the team after sending follow up email either. PwC

Neither. Move to a reasonably priced town anywhere else.
It’s New York every time. SF is too spread out it’s inefficient
SoCal. Warm weather. Usable beach. And NOT nearly as pretentious as SF.
M2 Lmao is that a joke? SoCal is the most pretentious place in the US
NYC if you’re not tied to the Tech industry.
Also - do you want to be on 6AM calls?
Do you want an amazing city with a live to work culture or an amazing city with a work to live culture?
Meh. Neither.
How are we supposed to know what you like with no context? Why not just split the difference and do Chicago or Dallas?
^why settle lol my biggest fear is feeling like a big fish in a small pond that ppl don’t think about
SF
SF. I love NY, but not where I would want to settle down or potentially start a family. Enjoy life - SF.
Compared to SF? Yes. Dead serious. I'm not saying SoCal is not unpretentious. The Bay Area just brings it to a whole new level. They're even worse when they leave the area (because they wanted a house, usually) and then complain the area they're in isn't the Bay Area. And, let's be clear, NY, Chicago, DC, etc can all be pretentious in their own ways, too.
Don't come to SoCal. It's gross here. Bay Area for sure.
SF if you are interested in tech no doubt
If you imagine yourself looking back in 10 years, which one would you most regret not living in? My friend asked me that a few years ago when I was making the same choice, and I picked NYC. With no regrets.
Currently live in SF but I would say NYC
NYC wasn’t in the list of “top 10 cities for finance jobs” this year.. San Fran was #2. Pretty nuts but it makes sense
Earthquake? 😉
