At 200k base I definitely still worried
Same here. Although think that came with being married and having a kid. If I was single I’d be splurging on the steaks

If you break $100k, you should not be worrying about the price of meat or gas. Assuming you were eating meat and using gas prior to that.
If gas goes up $1/gln, that adds $15 to a typical car’s fill-up (sorry F-350 owners). So a couple less lattes per month and you’ll be fine.
But I want to roll coal all day long at people!
On a serious note, gas prices are what they are. You don't get to play victim when your 5.7 hemi only gets 13 miles to the gallon and your gas bill goes up. If you can afford a 50k car, you can afford an extra 50 a month at the pumps.

Basic meat around $100k I stopped caring, but at $200k I still pause a little for nice steaks sometimes.
I remember my dad coming home stoked about $0.10 per proud savings on chicken while making $500k+. It’s all about perspective, I’ve found that staying cheap about those kind of things helps me feel more grounded in day to day life
I am not that responsible and honestly the only thing that has ever given me pause at the grocery store is the $10/pint ice cream.

My Jenis budget has been getting so out of hand that I just bought an ice cream maker and made copies of their ice creams, the key is a touch of corn syrup, corn starch and cream cheese
What kind of meats are you people buying? You can get decent USDA choice steaks with great marbling at most grocery stores for around $15 a pound. Unless you need to eat a 3lb steak every night it's literally $12-13 bucks for a steak and it's cheaper and better than takeout.

Things add up, plus steak isn’t the only thing you’d eat for dinner. Also, there is a difference between fine steaks and nice steaks. I may grab a hanger steak or whatever from WF for pretty cheap once a week but maybe once a month or two I’ll go to my butcher and grab some real nice stuff from like $30-40/pound and they have stuff for $60+/pound that maybe I’ll get on my birthday or something.

I clip coupons in my grocery store app no matter how much I make. Saving money in the budget, even just $15 off my weekly grocery bill, means more money for wants and savings.
I’ve always spent more money on pastured, local meat even in college (~$40k in scholarship + part time jobs). I’m super cheap when it comes to most things, but not what I put in my body!
Have never worried about this (first job was about $55k per year). To me food (groceries) is not the place to skimp
When you have 1k student loans a month it’s fucking hard
